When I first met Jeff Tucker in the year 2000 at a spiritual unity gathering in the sacred Black Hills of South Dakota, I was a stranger in a strange land. He approached me with open arms and an open heart – he welcomed me into a beautiful world that I hold dear and will never forget. I quickly grew to know him as a kola (Lakota word for friend), a sensitive, warm, spiritual man proud of his Indian roots and happy to share a story or lend a hand or ear when another was in need. He was an elder, a Sundancer, a cannupa carrier, a musician and so much more. My heart was heavy to learn of Jeff’s recent passing. He will always be remembered and greatly missed.
